What to Expect
The community at Disciples is authentic, fun, and just a little irreverent.
We’re in the same parking lot as Century 14 in Folsom, across the street from the Folsom Premium Outlets. Once you park, our main door is directly under the giant Disciples Church sign on the building; you can’t miss it! You can expect to be greeted at the door and offered our weekly program.
You’ll find most of us chatting in the lobby, and that the dress is pretty informal; jeans and shirts for most. Our kid check kiosk is on the left after entering. Free coffee(!) can be found opposite the kid check kiosk.
During the service, you can expect loud, upbeat music, followed by 20-minute message that is fun, practical, and centered on Jesus. The 90-minute service usually ends with a couple more songs, after which you can pick up your kiddos or hang with us in the lobby. Or you can race out the door…you wouldn’t hurt our feelings.
Current Series
Life is full of failure and few knew the biting regret of a decision they wished they could take back better than the Apostle Peter. Thankfully, Peter’s faith was strengthened and he went on to lead the early church in some crucial ways during some pivotal times. Join us as we study his two letters to Christians who were spread all over the known world, providing them – and us – with challenge, teaching, and encouragement.
Worship
Most Sundays we are led by our gifted worship leader, Ellie Spinosi, or our Worship Director, Josiah Haddleton. Their music is generally a bit on the loud-side, passionate, and sincere. You can check out our Spotify playlist to hear some of the songs you might expect to hear, but in general we sing about God – not ourselves. We sing a lot about His love, His grace, his Glory. We are a a wide mix of people from a wide mix of traditions, so you’ll see some with their hands raised and some stiff as a board. We are low on production, but high on excellence. You will not find smoke machines or fancy lighting schemes – no judgment, it’s just not our thing. We are always introducing new music and have a prayer team on hand during worship for those who want to pray with someone or be prayed for by someone.
For Your Kids
DC Kids is a fun and interactive learning experience for your child. From newborn to elementary school, your kids will learn about Jesus and have a great time.
We use Planning Center Check-Ins for an efficient and safe check-in and check-out experience for you and your family. If it’s your first time with us, you may want to arrive a few minutes prior to the service. It just takes a moment to create an account, and we have volunteers waiting to assist you.

Our services generally last about 90-minutes. Of that, the morning sermon typically runs about 25 minutes.
About 80 families call Disciples Church their “home” church. Each of our two Sunday morning services is generally attended by about 100 people.
Our church is generally pretty casual. Most of our fellas wear jeans or shorts and a t-shirt or button-up. Most of our ladies wear everything from shorts to dresses, and t-shirts to blouses. So feel free to wear whatever you want.
