Church During COVID-19
We all agree that people gathering together in Christian community is a supernatural discipline worthy of commitment as followers of Christ. Something shifts in our souls and in the communal atmosphere when God’s diverse people gathering to lift his name high, humbly receive teaching from his Word, and experience the community of prayer, testimony, and togetherness. Scripture implores this over and over again: being together is to our Christian life.
While we value deeply our gathering together we also are sensitive that not all of Disciples Church is ready to gather in a room singing songs, laying on of hands, and generally being in close proximity to others. For this reason, we will be offering an in-person worship experience as well as an online streaming service every Sunday morning at 10AM.
In Person Gathering Details:
Our gathering includes singing, preaching, prayer, and testimony. This will be a family style gathering – children will remain with their parents for the entire service.
We have a family friendly space set up in our Youth Auditorium if you would prefer to give your kids an area to play and interact with others. Our Children’s Ministry Director, Ruth Zive, has set up a play area for younger children and some activity tables for older kids, along with chairs for parents to sit and supervise while watching the service on a live feed.
Upon entry you’ll find coffee available and hand sanitizer stations and masks if you forgot yours and prefer to wear one. We continue to balance our commitment to gathering in community with efforts designed at ensuring our gatherings are not spreading Covid-19. To date, we have yet to have a single case of Covid-19 traced back to one of our gatherings.
Please stay home and join us via Facebook or YouTube Live if anyone in your household is experiencing COVID-19 symptoms: fever, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, chills, muscle pain, or new loss of taste or smell.
